its design and content reflect my thoughts, memories, feelings, and jokes.

i have an extreme aversion to flattening learning curves and a love for skiing. perhaps the two are related.

things that interest me: art, writing, systems, cybersecurity, digital ideas, and beautiful sentences.

for example, my favorite sentence in the world is “love loves to love love.”

currently thinking a lot about AI and its implications.

for all the sound and fury, if i were to distill my thoughts on AI into a single, strongly held view, it's:

but also, i've been thinking about Anthropic's mythos report and its implications.

i've been trying to create more than i consume this year, and that's manifested in my current project, ember, which explores the possibilities for conversational AI in storytelling. why stories?

Joan Didion wrote: "We tell ourselves stories in order to live."

it's a quote i hold dear and gets at the very essence of what it means to be human.

i've loved stories since i was a kid growing up in Houston in the 90s, when i had to win korean church math competitions for my mom to buy me a gameboy color.

notice that the preceding sentence was a story. and also, a single sentence. this is why i love the craft of writing.

stories transcend any one person's lifetime. interwoven across family, across friends, across lovers, across strangers — across generations, they are the fabric of our shared human experience.

in the end, we're all just stories, connected by nodes.
passed down over generations, they give us meaning.

we tell ourselves stories in order to live.
